Soul Nebulae Ic1848 and Heart Ic1805
By Abel Robles Borrasca
I have recently visited for work reasons the best sky I have ever known and one of the best in Spain with a bortle scale 2/3 in the Teruel area. Link to see it with maximum quality and zoon⬇️⬇️ https://www.astrobin.com/yhzaf9/ Taking advantage of my little free time I was able to do several astrophotography sessions. I decided to take only part of my equipment, so I opted for the Samyang135mm along with the Player One Poseidon-C Pro camera over the Star Adventurer Gti. The view was such that until I saw the Andromeda galaxy with the naked eye, I had never seen anything like it...even the shots I was taking were so clean and the background so dark and free of gradients that I opted for 10-minute shots. . to achieve the maximum possible signal. I leave you this fantastic image that, despite having a reduced focal length, has a great level of detail. The image also contains the blue planetary nebula Sh2-200. You can sense the gases emitting ionized hydrogen in its surroundings, but for this short focal length it is not possible to resolve well. IC 1805 and IC 1848 are two emission nebulae located in the Cassiopeia constellation 7,500 light years from the Solar System, in the Perseus spiral arm of the Milky Way. Both make up the Cassiopeia stellar association. Also near IC 1805 are Maffei I and Maffei II, two of the brightest galaxies in the Maffei group. The distance to these two nebulae is well determined, mainly because they have a star cluster at their center (it is much easier to determine the distance of a nebula if this occurs). The Heart and Soul nebulae are located in the Perseus arm of our galaxy 7000 and 7500 light years from us. This part of the arm has a lot of star formation activity and there are many young star clusters. The nebula is characterized by its intense red color and its configuration is the result of radiation emanating from a small group of stars near the center of the nebula. that ionize the gas giving it that red color. This open star cluster known as Melote 1805 contains some bright stars about 50 times the mass of our Sun, and many fainter stars that are only a fraction of the mass of our Sun. The Nebula Cluster contained a microquasar that was expelled millions of years ago.
