NGC4216 & Friends
By Davide Nardulli
NGC4216 (bottom left) is a metal-rich intermediate spiral galaxy located not far from the center of the Virgo Cluster, about 40 million light-years from Earth. NGC4216 is at the center of the triplet of galaxies completed by the galaxies NGC4206 and NGC4222, in this large cluster there are many other galaxies among which the brightest are: the spiral NGC4189 at the top center, the elliptical NGC4168 on the right and in the center of the field the NGC4193. I shot on the nights of April 1st and 2nd, 5 hours with the Optolong L-Pro filter for the luminance signal and another 5 hours with the Optolong RGB filters for the color signal.
